Travel bug

saw this and thinking what a cool store! and the items they have (above are passport holder and travel kits) have definitely tickled my travel bug. (didn't i JUST got back from a vacation? but...)

ahh i found her!

Sanna Annuka. I found this wall hanging art randomly a few days ago without knowing who the artist was. And while browsing this blog, the coffee tins above tickled my fancy. Turned out she's the artist of the wall hanging  art that i've been admiring. Ahh the beauty of technology.

my obsession

top image is taken from the anime bokura ga ita (we were there) by yuki obata. middle image is taken from hachimitsu to kuroba (honey and clover) by chika umino. and lastly, bottom image, (and my most obsessed with) is taken from NANA by (my most favorite manga author) ai yazawa.

all three animes and mangas that pushes me to think and design better.

on that note, i've been itching to stop by NEW PEOPLE, a 3 story japanese experience where they have a rotating art show, in san francisco japantown. with projects piling up, having one of delica's bento sounds like a brilliant idea.

cuteness overload

i just got back from my supposedly vacation turned to a whirlwind trip to asia for a week. while the jet lag is still here, i can't wait to share with y'all cuteness overload i found on my trip. so enjoy, and have a good long weekend.

i'm ready to move on from christmas reds to winter blues right now. and lately, i'm attracted brighter non pastel colors.

curl up and read

it's been really cold where i am, i'd love to take a break and curl up with a good book. this past summer, penguin has republished its classics with wonderful book jackets designed by Ruben Toledo. while one shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but isn't it wonderful when the cover is just as fabulous as the words inside? i especially love the pride and prejudice cover, and it is my favorite book of all time.

it's been a long and odd week for me. so i was craving for something creamy and chocolaty to settle my mind. So i found this french dessert recipe and beautiful photograph to follow, which brought me smiles, not only because it's sounds so yummy, but beautiful enjoyable photos from the site.

november is my month

anthropologie has done some really right with their branding. but lately i'm loving their catalog so much that i wish i'm the girl living in it. these two are the images from their november catalog. for some reason they remind me [the image] of russia. i've never been there, but that's how i think winter in russia should be, snowing inside your mansion while wearing fabulous clothes and carefree hair!

i really don't need to love anthropologie more than i have. however, i was pleasantly surprise to receive these cards from them for my birthday. i love these! the cupcake image was punched through a thick cardboard card. i'm keeping these!

look what oh joy! has found this morning. i've always wanted a library in my own home one day. my initial idea was the library like the one below. classic, white, clean and gloriously featuring only the colorful spines of books. ohhh how wonderful it would be!

then i visited oh joy! blog this morning, and saw that photo of a kid's bookstore in beijing by that japanese architect. oh well, no i think screw clean, screw streamlined features! i want THAT! the organic feeling! the colors! i want to be there. (i was in beijing last winter, and apparently i wasn't in this neck of the wood). how imaginative and fun would that be for a library!

i have a certain affinity with post offices in general. due to their long history, some of them are housed in a unique historical building. for me, the post office is like the airport, unless you're waiting for something for you, it's pretty much mundane. but when you know you're getting something in the mail, that sense of knowing that something wonderful is coming is just marvelous. now, imagine receiving this in the mail... surely will make your day!
